Background
Since 1999, Parenta has grown from being a nursery website provider to becoming a specialist in all things related to childcare in the Early Years.
Parenta had an internal IT support team that struggled to deliver the levels of support a growing organisation needed. This was partly due to resource limitations that restricted further support and training for the internal resource. The limitations made modernising legacy IT that caused recurrent issues difficult.
Project Description
As an SME, Parenta had a single full-time internal IT resource. As a result of this, there was inadequate IT support during periods of leave and absence.
This limited capacity meant the team was under-resourced, and combined with unreliable systems, caused repeat issues for users. The legacy IT infrastructure also lacked scalability and resiliency, meaning that growth was impinged and extended downtime was a significant risk.
Parenta chose to outsource IT support to Impreza IT to deliver excellent support levels and provide strategic guidance to allow the company to meet its goals.
As part of the initial onboarding, Impreza IT conducted a full IT audit culminating in a strategic IT Road Map. The Road Map clearly detailed the risks of the current infrastructure and outlined a 12-18 month plan for technology recommendations to allow Parenta to achieve its commercial goals.
The outsourced support service allowed Parenta to depend on a dedicated team of multiple experienced engineers, with knowledge of supporting several technologies. Combined with improvements to existing systems, this dramatically improved support levels, reduced wait times, greatly improved efficiency and ultimately delivered cost savings to the customer compared to employing an internal IT resource.
